Seasons

It was the last day of the Winter,
And the snow had melted away,
The chilling wind no longer whistled,
The green grass showed the way.

For here comes beautiful Miss Spring,
With joy and love in her steps,
The flowers would be in full blossom,
As the little birds chirp away.

The sun would start to warm up,
Getting ready for the next phase,
Well just a few days later,
Miss Summer would land up in all her grace.

Heat waves would follow us all,
Thirsty creatures crawling around,
Waiting eagerly for drops of water,
And how long before the monsoon would come to town.

Miss Rain would come with a lot of vigor,
The sins of the world would be washed away,
But too much vigor on Mother Nature's part,
Could wreck havoc and result in a flood.

All creatures would pray for rains to stop,
And that is when the artistic mind would drop.
A splash of bright colors all around,
Accompanied by a cool breeze, yes Miss Autumn is in town.

We would be awed by Mother Nature's canvas,
And the next few weeks would quickly pass.
The sun would grow mellow and the air would be cold and dry,
Surprise! Miss Winter is back as all the seasons did fly.

The Strong Girl

She's dressed in black working along,
On this last shift of the night,
Working swiftly through the orders,
With no one else at sight.

Who knows what goes through her mind,
As she prepares one after the other without a break,
She has perfected all every single step,
Like she's a ballerina on The Swan Lake.

Her hair flows dark just like the darkest of nights,
The Silver Brooch on her head jingles as she turns to the sides,
She brings out the Moon with the sweetest of smiles,
But she scare me off by taking her earrings aside.

Her ears really shows her undaunted spirit.
This is one girl who is not scared to fight,
This is one girl who wants to make things right,
This is one girl who is much more than what is in sight,
This is one girl who wants to live her life.

My Old Friend, The Guide

(A poem that was writen a long time back in 1996 by a 12 year old kid)

I used to see the poor man,
Begging everyday in the street.
Whenever I went out for a walk,
We used to talk everytime we did meet.

We spoke of this land of spirituality,
We spoke of night and the stars that shine.
We spoke of the wheat stalks in the field,
Standing in an innumerous line.

We also spoke about the long rivers,
We spoke about the mountain chain.
He wanted to go there and see their beauty,
But as he was a poor man, it was all in vain.

The only thing he had was a cap,
Which he used to wear in the hills as a guide.
Although he had come back from there,
He still didn't move his old cap aside.

Then came one dreadful winter night,
When I was away from my house.
When I returned I found him lying,
Covered in snow in the streets like a mouse.

I took him home and gave him food to eat,
But it was all a way too late.
My old friend had died of cold,
Screaming and shouting in the cold for a little heat.

But still in my memory he prevails,
I erected his tomb in his country of Wales.
I still remember him now and then,
To forget such a goid man would really be a shame.

True Love

True love leads to the sacrifice of the love that we give,
It takes less and yet gives us so more;
An everlasting feeling of eternal love,
Turns our heart to an open door.

The willingness to give up yourself,
To lay down your own life and happiness;
In order to touch another person's heart,
Is the true love in form of the sacrifice.

This is a chance that God has given you,
To reach and touch another soul;
Shall forever be changed by kindness,
The life your love has made whole.

Every life is but a circle,
Every life is just part of the chain;
Every link is joined by sacrifice,
That causes man to love and to change.

Let us turn and reach out with a hand of love,
In order to touch one another's life;
Which Will cause the circle to be complete,
In an act of loving sacrifice.

Moonflower

Tonight I had my chance to witness
The moon in full bloom;
Felt awed by its resplendent beauty
Lighting up the night sky.

I had my chance to be moonstruck
By the beauty of the Moonflower;
So exotic, pure and so rare;
So heavenly like the Holy angel.

Tonight I have seen the Moonflower bloom.
I have witnessed its beauty piercing
My heart like cupid's arrows;
That leaves me with sweet mortal wounds.

There are times when I felt forsaken.
When the moon went down and the sun arose,
Burning away the soft night skies,
And the Moonflower along with it.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen,
If the sun had no moon to chase every day.
Our night skies would be dark forever,
As the starlight is no surrogate
For the blooming moonshine.

And that is when the sun in me,
Would slowly turn out to be a white-dwarf;
Just a cold empty shell of a being,
That grieves for its lost love.

I would really long,for that friendly smile,
On those cold days, to reignite,
The warmth held within my heart.
But, I am afraid I may have lost mine,
In the collection of false hopes;
My Moonflower has slowly withered away.

Dedicated to my beloved Moonflower. May you be happy and in full bloom wherever you are.

Pain

Have you ever known, what it really feels like,
When your every thought tends to strangle you from the inside.
Have you ever known, what it really feels like,
When your every single teardrop, you know you must hide.

Have you ever known, what it really feels like,
When your realize your near ones don't know who you are.
Have you ever known, what it really feels like,
When your near ones are the ones you start to fear.

Have you ever known, how bad your life can be,
When you are dying all alone, with no one else to see.
Have you ever known, how your life could be a pain,
When no one else can see your tears as you walk through the rain.

Have you ever known, how far you should go and fight,
Before you finally give in to the pain and end your night.
Have you ever known, that feeling which keeps lingering on,
Always reminding you that you'll never see the break of dawn.

Have you ever known, the slightest hint of a secret inspiration,
Which makes you move ahead, in midst of utter desperation.
The heart bleeds through this pen, as I write down these words,
What my heart has had to bear, while living among double edged swords.

I can't blame no one, since I brought this fate upon me,
Like a quicksand it shall pull me in, the more I try to be free.
Have you ever seen a man smile, even when he is in utmost sorrow,
I'll continue hiding behind the smiling face hoping for a better tomorrow.
