Song Of Silence

It is not just your conversation

That keeps me entertained.

It is rather the way you look at me

That makes me feel sustained.

It is the glitter in your eyes,

And the curl of your hair.

It is all of the little things

That makes me stop and stare.

It is not just your intelligence

That drew me so close to you.

It is not just your sense of humor

That has thrown me all askew.

It's not the touch of your hand

Or the thoughts in your head.

Rather it is all of the little things

The things that don't get said.

It's not just your vivid history

That has made me fall in love.

It is not just your comprehension

Of the world around or above.

It is mostly your soft temperament,

And the way you smile at me.

It is all of these little things

That makes me want to see.

It is not just when we are talking

That I want to know some more.

It is not just while you sing for me

That I learn what I'm looking for.

It is rather the time we spend alone

And the times in utter silence.

It is all of these little things

That forms our strong alliance.

It is not just the job you work so hard,

That shows your true commitment.

It is also not your crazy habits

That gives me a sense of fulfillment.

It is rather the purpose you bring to my life,

A gentle reminder on why I have been chosen.

Thus, it is all of these little things

That form our Song of Silence.

Road To Recovery

After you've recovered, what would you do?

After you've returned back, would you still be you?

Would you grow stronger, would you really be new?

When you have finally recovered from what you've been through?

Would life be better than it was before?

Would you realize your unfulfilled dreams and improve your score?

Would people even bother to remember that you're still there?

Or would they forget you because they had never really cared?

Your life in recovery may not have been the same.

The rules may have changed and it feels like a brand new game.

You need to pick up the pieces and make a fresh start,

Only courage and hope as company will keep you from falling apart.

This new world all around you seems different and changed.

Things that once were within grasp, now seem out of your range,

But you can still recapture your life and fulfill

The dreams that were lost when you were taken ill.

This journey to wellness would take time and is long,

And those that manage to get well are exceptionally strong.

Although the illness could kill, but you are going to survive.

Your goal to recover and chase your dreams would've always kept you alive.

After you've recovered, what would you do?

You have suffered and conquered and saw it all through.

Back from the black and the deepest abyss of despair,

It is time to move forward; it is time to really care.
